MappED! and WCAG

"Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is developed through the W3C process in cooperation with individuals and organizations around the world, with a goal of proving a single shared standard for web content accessibility that meets the needs of individuals, organizations, and governments internationally." — World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

The MappED! online platform is built with the goal of being accessible to everyone, independently of any impairments the user might possess. Therefore, it became imperative to use the WCAG to follow the standards of web accessibility. Each new content structure, functionality and visual content on this platform are developed through a meticulous process that ensures that all of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines are complied.

Beside of the theory applied in development, we also take some aiding measures to perfect and ensure accessibility of our content. We use some online validation tools recommended by the European Commission, and maintain contact with users (with and without disabilities) to give us feedback on the platform's web content accessibility and user experience.
